Ferrari 360 Spider Drawing

This is a coloured pencil drawing of a Ferrari 360 Spider on display in front of a used car dealership on Preston Street ("Corso Italia") in Ottawa's Little Italy during the 2008 Ottawa Ferrari Festival held by the Ottawa chapter of the Ferrari Club of America, based on this photo that I took in June.

It's drawn in Prismacolor coloured pencils on 12" by 9" sketchbook paper, instead of the usual 28" by 22" poster board, so it's not quite as detailed as the larger drawings.

This was intended to be only a one day drawing, like this coloured pencil drawing of a Ferrari F430 Challenge Car, but this one had a lot more tiny details in the background, and I was working on a couple of oil pastel pieces simultaneously, so I didn't finish it until well over a month after I started.

I had already scanned this once when I noticed that I forgot to draw the reflection of the telephone pole on the hood, so I felt I needed to work on it just a little more and then scan it again.

I prefer, for the most part, the styling of the Ferrari F430 over that of the the Ferrari 360 Modena, though they're both fine-looking cars, but, from an artistic standpoint, one thing I definitely appreciate about the 360 is that the standard single-spoke star rims are so much easier to draw than the double-spoke Enzo-type star rims of the F430.
